National Fuel Security Campaign

A national campaign has been developed to raise awareness of the National Fuel Security Plan and to help Australians feel prepared and supported through global disruptions.

Translated versions of the National Fuel Security Campaign are available.

Amid global disruptions to oil and gas supplies, the Australian Government - in partnership with state and territory governments - is taking action to safeguard fuel supply and keep Australia moving through the National Fuel Security Plan (national plan), endorsed by National Cabinet.

To support these efforts the National Fuel Security campaign launched on 13 April 2026.

Drivers are encouraged to adopt simple, practical behaviours to use less fuel – helping our supply to go further and saving fuel for our truckies, farmers and essential services.

The tagline ‘Every little bit helps’ shows a shared responsibility to fuel consumption and fuel efficiency as a key component of the National Fuel Security Plan.
