National Fuel Security Campaign

Amid global disruptions to oil and gas supplies, the Australian Government – in partnership with state and territory governments – is safeguarding fuel supply and keeping Australia moving through the National Fuel Security Plan, endorsed by National Cabinet.

To support these efforts the National Fuel Security campaign launched on 13 April 2026.

Drivers are encouraged to adopt simple, practical behaviours to use less fuel – helping our supply to go further and saving fuel for our truckies, farmers and essential services.

The tagline ‘Every little bit helps’ reflects our shared responsibility to focus on fuel consumption and efficiency as key components of the National Fuel Security Plan.
