We’ve continued reductions to the fuel tax until 2 August 2026 and passed tough new laws against price gouging to make sure Australians are seeing the savings.
We’ve secured more supply by bringing more fuel into Australia, releasing some of our reserves and keeping more fuel here at home.
Additional fuel excise relief for the month of July

The Albanese Government will extend fuel excise relief for another month, making petrol and diesel 16 cents per litre cheaper versus normal prices for July, saving Australians around $11 per tank. Read about this announcement
