Firstly, and primarily of course, Australians during the day have been very concerned, understandably and rightly, to see the footage from Geelong.

Firstly, as you know, the Prime Minister and I last week announced that the government, through Export Finance Australia, had reached a deal with Viva and Ampol, to enable them to go and get Australian cargos or to get cargos on the international market for Australians.

Good morning, everyone. Thanks for coming out. As you know, every Saturday I provide an update to the Australian people with the latest information on the fuel situation, and I’m pleased, of course, to do so today.

As you know, I try and daily update Australians on the situation with fuel supply, and obviously, we've seen some encouraging developments overseas, but still a long way to go to ensure security, when it comes to the flow of oil and other goods through the Straits of Hormuz, but we're very actively working. 

The Albanese Labor government is unlocking investment in Australia’s fuel security, supply chain resilience and critical minerals through the Investor Front Door’s first pilot projects.

Good morning everyone and welcome to the Ampol Lytton Refinery. My name is Kara Cook, I'm the local Federal Member here, and it's my great pleasure to welcome Prime Minister Anthony Albanese here, and of course Minister Chris Bowen as well.

I would like to recognise the efforts of Australians over the Easter long weekend to conserve fuel and to get on with life. We saw very few cancellations. That was a good thing.
